Reticulated (Filter Foam)

Reticulated foam is known for its versatility, as it is an open-cell material that is lightweight and highly resistant to mildew.

Reticulation is the post treatment process that “opens” up the cells of the foam in polyurethane materials. This process creates a more porous foam material creating a better filter or metering media. The cells that make up the foam can have a number of variations, which can also be precisely controlled. Different foams have varying cell structures and characteristics, but foams from the same material family can also be made with vastly different density and firmness specifications that will greatly affect their performance

Reticulated foam is most often used to create products that are used in filtration, sound absortion, fluid management and padding.

Universal Foam Products has fabricated many solutions using reticulated foams including liquid delivery components, sound absorption components, air conditioner filters, etc.

We understand that the porosity of reticulated forms is crucial when designing a custom component or product. Our technicians combined years of experience and technical expertise can help to guide you when you’re selecting the proper material for your component.
